Laser Cutting
Prime Products’ carbon dioxide (CO₂) laser cutting capabilities are ideally suited for a variety of applications. Laser cutting is an ideal process for any production volume – from prototypes to long run.
Our advanced 2-axis CO₂ laser utilizes a flying optics design and is fitting with auto-focus and contouring features – ensuring a strong balance of speed and precision. Prime Products’ CO₂ laser cutting equipment provides up to 400 watts of power, a 4′ x 4′ cutting area and a flying optics design, which is extremely fast, accurate, and capable of rastering as well as cutting.
With both our rastering and rotary attachment cutting capabilities, Prime’s CO₂ laser can cut through a wide variety of materials. We specialize in cutting plastics such as acrylic, acetal and polyester, pressure-sensitive adhesives, reflectors and diffusers, as well as some thin gauge metals and some types of rubber. We can cut up to 1″ thick acrylic, .125″ carbon steel, and .060″ thick aluminum or stainless steel. Our CO₂ laser cutting has an accuracy of ± .001″ with a repeatability of ± .0002″.
Our engineering staff rigorously tests each material to determine both the feasibility of laser cutting and the optimal settings for the cleanest possible cut edge.
The following table lists additional details of our CO₂ laser cutting service. If you would like to learn more about this service or other services we offer, please contact us today.
