Laser Marked Aortic Sizer for the Medical Industry

The device shown here was designed for use in a medical application, and there are several different sizes of this part.

This customer came to us because they needed a supplier who could partner with them to meet their specific needs with regards to lot control, labeling and packaging, while offering high quality, accurate marks on the product. Our expert CAD Engineers developed laser programs for each version of the part, and designed a custom holding fixture that would work for all sizes in the series of parts. The part required laser markings on both the center hexagon shaped piece, as well as the barrel end of the part, so two separate laser operations were required.

Once the parts were marked, they needed to be relabeled to a new part number which was designated in the customer’s system. The parts were repackaged by the fiber laser operator in the customer’s original packaging, and the old parts marking labels were covered with new labels that had been provided by our customer. Each lot was processed separately, and once completed, was transferred to our shipping department for shipment to the customer.
